Broken. Promise or Trust? (Part I)

Sam and Tina were close. From being school friends to college couples they didn't even realize when they evolved so much and how beautifully their bond strengthened. Living, laughing, and always spending quality time together. It was the last year of college, everyone was hoping to get a job, some were planning to pursue higher studies. While Sam and Tina were trying their best to get into Harvard for masters. It was always their dream to study together at Harvard and later settle in the US and live the life of their dreams. But destiny had its plan. Sam got accepted while Tina wasn't. After knowing this, Tina was downhearted. She was crying. Sam was also not happy. Somehow Tina braced herself. "It is only about two years, I don't want you to miss this opportunity", she told Sam. "I can't spend a day without you and you're saying it's only about two years. That would be tough for me", replied Sam. "But I'll shift to the USA after two years and then we'll settle there. Wasn't this always our plan?", asked Tina looking into his eyes. "What if I couldn't make it to Harvard? At least you've had made it. Sam, you're an integral part of my life. I would be much happier to see you at Harvard rather than staying here just because I couldn't go. It is up to you how happy you want to see me", finished Tina. These words of her made him understood that she wants him to go and so he made his mind. Before leaving, he met Tina for the last time and promised her he'll be there for her no matter what will be the situation.

A year passed away. Both were busy in their higher studies. Calls and texts were the only means to communicate. Hardly there was any time for a video call. Suddenly. one day Sam received an unknown call. "Hey, is this Sam?", the stranger asked. "Yes, but who are you", inquired Sam. "Well, I'm the one who is going to be everything of Tina", answered the stranger. "Wait, what? How do you know Tina? And what are you saying?", exclaimed Sam. "I don't want to talk to you. I just called you to tell you that I don't like you talking or texting to Tina. So, please stay away from her. I am his boyfriend.", and with this, the stranger disconnected the call. Sam didn't believe it, because Tina never said anything about it. So, he called her and talked about it. Sadly, it all came out to be true. He was broken into pieces and cried like never before. The one with whom he imagined his future, the person he trusted blindly, broke his trust. Only if Tina had herself told this to Sam, he wouldn't be this sad. Somehow he braced himself and because he promised Tina that he'll always be there for her they remained good friends. After a week, Sam called Tina as usual, but he realized that he got blocked. He checked out all the social media and realized she had blocked him everywhere. Sam was broke again but this time he didn't cry. He was anxious. He waited for some days hoping that she will surely call him but there was no response. Sam realized that Tina no more wants to even talk to him. His brokenness turned into loneliness. He deleted all his social media accounts, changed his phone number so that Tina can never reach him out ever again. 

Tina broke Sam's Trust and Sam broke the promise he made to Tina.
