Push yourself
Today I was watching some clips of the 2012 Olympics and I felt that watching the Olympics is way better than watching music videos or vlogs. Also, it reminded me of my past years when I was too much into cycling. I used to do 12.5 km of cycling everyday till 10th standard. And some days I used to go more than 12.5 km. I started with 3.5 km and within 2 years, I achieved 12.5 km. And how I achieved this is pretty simple. I just kept one thing constant and that is the time. My cycling time was 40 minutes. Earlier I was cycling 3.5 km in 40 minutes and in the end, 12.5 km in the same time. By keeping the time constant I pushed my limits to do better than earlier, and in this process I became a good cyclist. There was one more thing that played a key role in this process and that is consistency. I remained consistent. I was doing cycling every day. Be it a rainy day, windy day or, too hot or too cold to step out, I went out for it every day. It was more of a ritual for me that I couldn't afford to miss for even a single day.
Also, I saw that capabilities are something that is limited by our mindset. And I not only saw it but also experienced it. Human capabilities are limited by their mindset only. Only if we start believing that we can do much more than what we were doing, we would be able to do much better. Here's a personal experience of mine associated with this thing. Most of you won't believe it, but for the last two years, I'm bathing with tap cold waters in the winters. It started like this, I bathe with cold water in summers. So, in 2018 I decided to check how long can I keep on bathing with cold water. So, pre winters came and I was bathing with cold water only. And then winters were getting colder but I was still bathing with cold water only. Eventually, spring came and it started to become less cold and I realized that I spent the whole winters of 2018 bathing with cold water only. Also, I'm not using warm winter since then. And, in this way, I pushed my limits. Now, I feel less cold in winters.
So, one can push their limits in any aspect of life just by going to extremes by believing that they can do it.
