Sweet traps
Sometimes we start enjoying those distractions so much that we forget about the ultimate goal. We forget that if that goal will be achieved, it would be a more enjoyable moment. What we call distractions are nothing but small temptations that takes us into the trap of destruction. Those temptations look so delightful that we keep the main purpose aside and start chasing them.
I'm not saying that only a few people fall into it. It happens with everyone. But the one who falls once and never makes that mistake again is the one who makes a difference. Even I also fall for click baits sometimes, but then I don't make those mistakes again.
Discipline is the principle that can prevent us from falling into sweet traps and getting distracted from the goal. Discipline is not the act of being strict and tough. It is something which adds value to our life. Without discipline, one cannot achieve great heights. I'm not saying that you have to follow a strict time table and work all day without talking to anyone. I want to say that you should have a strong willpower to make tough decisions between what is right and what is wrong for you. This is how we stay away from falling into sweet traps.
Sometimes, what happens is that we are doing something wrong which is destructive but enjoyable. We know it is wrong and making us far from our ultimate goal, but still, we do it. This is an example of weak willpower. One's willpower should be strong enough so that they never do such mistakes. Life is short, only if we keep on enjoying little temptation which does not contribute to our goals then there won't be enough time left to achieve the ultimate goal. Remember, I wrote about people compromising in their lives, this is also a kind of compromise and the difference is that here we compromise with ourselves only. I don't know if I'm clear enough to make you understand what I'm trying to say, but hope you find it interesting.
Have a great day!
