I made a deal with myself

It had been more than a year I have not even tasted a single bite of pizza. Well, I always
write about health and fitness. I write that one should never eat junk food. But, I love pizza. It's one of my favorite food. Well, this doesn't mean I'm eating it regularly. I am committed to being fit and that is why I eat it rarely. So, if you commit to something then you have to give up on few things. And the reason why I'm writing about this is that today I just watched a cooking video of pizza and since then, I'm missing it more than usual.

Anyways, it's just a response of our mind towards the taste buds that makes us crave our favorite food.

So, today had been a really good day. I won't say it was a very productive one. But, it was a good day in terms of quality. I had a test in the morning. And yesterday I targeted a particular score for this test. Also, I set a bait that can boost my capabilities to actually score higher. Well, I wanted to score higher. Also, for a few days I was thinking of watching a movie I found interesting, but due to my daily schedule, I couldn't find out time to watch it. So, last night, just before winding my stuff. I suddenly decided to make a deal with myself. I decided that if I score the test's targeted score, I will watch that movie and won't do anything else. And, I just wanted to watch that movie so bad that I couldn't afford to lose out on this target. And just after I made this deal, I was planning strategies in my head to reach the targeted score. Also, during the test, unlike most of the time, I didn't felt sleepy at all. Not even for once. I just kept on doing questions, one after one to reach that score by any means. To my surprise, I was doing the test till the end and attempted my last question in the last 30 seconds.

Though, it kind of increased my heartbeat when I saw just 30 seconds remaining in the timer. But, at last, the bait worked. I reached the targeted score And, now I will watch the movie after dinner.

So, what I did was just for the sake of a movie. But I concluded that we have the ability to perform much better than what we are doing. And, it's just not about a test. It can be about anything. This was more of an experiment that proved that if we have got a reason, no matter how small or big, if we have a burning desire to fulfill that reason, we can push our capabilities to any extent.

Just find that reason for whatever you're doing. I'm not talking about finding a movie as bait to perform better in your next test. I'm talking about a reason for what you're doing in the long term. A reason that can keep you pushing for the long term to achieve bigger goals in life. Although, a deal for a movie can push you to outshine in small day-to-day tasks.

Have a great day!
