Following the crowd blindly
One day I was in hurry and so I climbed up the stairs of the exit only side of the metro station. And I realized it when I reached upstairs and saw people only exiting from the AFC gates. Then, when I turned around, I saw a big crowd coming as well. I realized that they all actually followed me blindly when I climbed upstairs. They came one after one and in this resulted in a big crowd. And, in the end, all of them had to return downstairs. Only if they had not followed one after one blindly, and instead had read the signboard saying 'exit only', they could have saved themselves from those useless efforts they put in climbing upstairs.
Well, this does not only happens in daily life scenarios but in almost all aspects of life. The majority of the population is blindly following the crowd. And I'm not saying this because many people say this, it's because I observe things. A decade back, average people realized the potential in the IT industry which boomed in the late 90s and so one by one every other student was choosing to pursue a course in IT or CS. And, after a decade, the crowd is still going on. Though, it's kind of useless if you're doing it without any interest.
Now, another trend that I'm observing in the past few years is that every other person is becoming a Youtube addict and then making videos and posting over the platform. Everyone is following the crowd once again. And it's no big deal because people were doing it like this and will keep on doing like this. They are only a few people who think differently and always want to make a difference. The rest are just trying to find a shortcut to success or just settle in life.
Well, from this, I'm not disregarding anyone. It's just that I want people to think differently, uniquely, and creatively. And not just, copy others.
Have a great day!
