LinkedIn profiles of Employers and Employees
Today I was browsing through Linkedin and checking out profiles of different people. I checked profiles of people who graduated from Top Schools and now working at a good post in top Companies. I also checked profiles of those who have also graduated from top schools but running their own companies at present.
Now, what I observed is that the two kinds of people have very different profiles. The ones who are working in a company have a very detailed and presentable profile so that one can see almost every achievement and highlights they gained throughout their experience. It's really enjoyable going through their profiles.
While those who are running their own companies do not have really good profiles as compared to the former ones. In fact, the bigger organization they are running, the less attractive their profile looks.
Well, the answer behind these two differences is in the position, each group of people is at. Though, both the groups are equally qualified and studied from top schools, still, the former wants more security and that is why they have highlighted every achievement. In this way, they secure an image that can land them a good job if they somehow lose the present one. While the latter are risk-takers. They don't really care about presenting and highlighting their achievements because their work is already been known. And, it's not the only reason. In fact, it doesn't really matter to them because, as I told you, they are risk takers. And that is why they are at that level.
Now, I'm not trying to point out anyone. It's just, I found this thing really interesting. I just wanted to let everyone know that taking risks in life is important to reach bigger heights. It's just not that those people risked their linkedin profiles and reached that position, obviously they risked a lot.
Now, I really don't know how to end this one. Maybe, you should think about this and try to learn something.
